Boosters
Simply put, boosters are converters or transformers for the mechanical amplitude that a transducer creates.
In ultrasonic welding systems, the booster changes the presented amplitude (travel) in order to forward it to the sonotrode. Depending from the type, a booster either increases or decreases the amplitude. Usually, since plastics require large amplitudes for welding, the boosters increase the presented amplitude, however. The transmission ratio is usually in the scale of 1:1.5, 1:2.0 up to 1:2.5.
The bearing is most often done using a clamping ring.
soniKKs produces titanium boosters. Other materials are possible, but have been requested very rarely in the past.
All boosters are subjected to a thorough quality testing before they ship, giving you as a customer the reliability of a well-functioning and durable product.
