Special applications
Ultrasonic treatment of sludge
Using ultrasonics to treat biomass or sewage sludge from renewable raw material yields a significantly improved decomposition. Without the need to add any chemicals, the digestive process is intensified and accelerated.
The digestive process is driven by bacteria in the biomass and, as a byproduct, creates biogas. Treating organic waste, sewage sluge or manure with ultrasonics does not only accelerate the process but also substantially increases the biogas yield. Furthermore, applying sound to biomass drives the drainage, reducing the amount of residual waste that need to be disposed of.
