Ultrasonic cutting
Ultrasonic cutting has a very broad spectrum of applications.
One of the most common applications, however, is cutting in the food processing industry. Appropriately shaped transducers are used to precisely cut cheese, cake, sweet, pastries and tart. The sonotrode emit ultrasonic wave apportionind any food product, no matter what consistency.
It is because the sonotrode subdivides the material without applying any pressure that the food is not deformed or squeezed in the process.
Another very good example for the efficiency in ultrasonic cutting is the manufacturing of tarpaulin and other fabrics : Using ultrasonic cutting, the material will never frazzle, but instead have a sealed, molten cut edge.
